Keep Calm & Ask Questions
What is a Tournament Team?
The tournament team is a more competitive experience than a recreational team. These teams travel to nearby areas (usually within 60 miles) to play against other teams within their division. Tournaments are normally held Friday thru Sunday and most teams participate in 4 to 6 tournaments from May to August. Players may also participate in a recreational summer league (normally held on Wednesday nights).
When are tryouts?
Individual tryouts for the 2026 season will be held on Monday, August 4th from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the Southwest High School softball diamond. Registration available soon.

What is GameChanger?
GameChanger is the mobile app our team uses for scheduling, communication, scorekeeping, and to record player stats. Each player is set up with their own individual profile under their team. Parents/guardians are able to add additional family members, sync the team calendar with their personal calendar, and view their player's video highlights, stats, and follow each game in real-time. The free GameChanger app can be downloaded for both Android and Apple.
Does Each Team Have Their Own Schedule?
Game schedules will be added closer to the start of tournament season. The GameChanger app is the platform for game scheduling and team communication. Each family will receive an invitation to join the team set up on the GameChanger app. Parents/guardians are able to update their contact information, add additional family members, and sync the team calendar.

Fundraisers
Calendar Raffle
This is our largest fundraiser for the program. Each player is asked to sell 20 calendars at $10 each. They're easy to sell and people can win money! The 2025 Season Calendar Raffle begins May 1st. Winners will be posted on our Facebook page. Winning tickets re-entered. Payments are made by mail. Need not be present to win.
Every year the question arises as to why we sell calendars. Here are a few reasons why this fundraiser is so important to the Southwest Softball Association and the Southwest High School Softball Varsity and JV teams:
-
Each player’s registration fee aims to cover the direct costs associated with playing on the team (uniform, socks, etc.) The registration fees only cover a small portion of our annual costs per player. Raffle calendars are sold to offset the cost.
-
To allow the SWSA organization to purchase updated equipment necessary for player safety.
-
Provide opportunities for skill development year-round; including training camps, pitching clinics, and gym time.
-
Our annual raffle calendar fundraiser is the only required fundraiser for our players. Each girl is asked to sell 20 calendars at $10 each.
-
Proceeds from the calendar raffle are used to update Southwest High School’s softball equipment, provide uniforms, and cover additional fees.
"Dine out to Donate" Nights
Raising money while eating yummy food and supporting local businesses? Yes, please! Invite friends and family to dine in or take out, and the restaurant will donate a percentage of sales during the designated date and time back to SWSA!
Volunteering
It takes a village to keep the organization running every season. Parents are the heart of the village - we can't make this happen without you! There are plenty of opportunities to become involved and we are always open to new ideas and suggestions.
Team Parent
We're looking for a parent (or two!) to help manage the team. Duties may include organizing snacks for tournaments, making sure volunteer spots are filled for each game, communication with team parents about practices, games, or special team events, etc. Talk with your child's coach about how you can become involved.
Summer Concert Fundraising
Volunteers assemble! EPIC Events and Capital Credit Union Park in Ashwaubenon, WI give local non-profits the opportunity to fundraise each summer at specific events that take place at Capital Credit Union Park. SWSA was able to raise over $8,000 by providing volunteers for two events in 2024.
2025 Summer Concerts
Our SWSA group will be volunteering at two separate concerts this summer at Capital Credit Union Stadium in Ashwaubenon, WI. Our duties will vary based on need, but may include scanning tickets, working in the concessions areas, stadium security/crowd control, assisting with ADA seating. Anyone 16 years and older is eligible to volunteer but 18 years is preferred. Our organization will earn money based on the number of volunteers - each volunteer will earn $12 per hour. Depending on the event we may also keep a portion of the tips. At least 20 volunteers are needed but the more we have, the more we are able to raise. Volunteering also includes admission to the concert!
